Bestie Love.

April

Last month, three of my friends in Tulsa and I took a roadtrip to Dallas. I work with two of the girls, Maizie and Tiffany, and Tiff's sister Stephanie joined us. We left on a Friday, immediately after work. The three girls were staying in a hotel in Dallas for the weekend, but my destination was Austin. My plan was to hop in with my best friend Kathryn, who lives in Dallas, and roadtrip with her to surprise our other best friend, Kristin, who lives in Austin. So much girl time and so much fun!

All ready to head out of T-town!

Kathryn and I made it to Kristin's house before she even got home. She had no clue. Her response:

Perfect. It was so good to reunite with these girls. We had a relaxing weekend consisting of really great conversations while hanging out a lot in our pajamas and eating food. What could be better?

Austin has wonderful breakfast tacos.

And we make strange faces while getting ready

Kristin's stepdad insisted that we pose for many pics on his beloved motorcycle.

We had dinner at The Oasis on Lake Travis. It was beautiful. And had fun statues.

Sadly, we had to leave Austin on Sunday. But we couldn't leave without eating a delicious brunch at Kerby Lane. And I had my very first mimosa. Yummm.

On the road back to Dallas, Kathryn took me to my first experience at the Czech Stop in West, Texas and we belted out some T-Swift.

After a quick bite at In-N-Out, it was time to get back on the road to Tulsa with these girls.

It was such a refreshing weekend with some very lovely ladies. I'm blessed with the best.

We love you, Oklahoma.

It's clear by my blog title alone that Oklahoma is very special to me. It's my home. And while I'm eternally grateful that my family and friends are safe from the recent tornado tragedies, there are many people who can't say the same. Lives were lost and homes were destroyed and my heart breaks for them.

As you all know, Moore, OK was hit the worst. This town was my first home away from home after I graduated high school and went to my first two years of college at Hillsdale. My husband J.D. also lived there the year we were engaged, while I was finishing up my senior year at OU. It's an awesome community and we want to help in any way possible.

With J's talent as a graphic designer, he decided to design and sell T-shirts as a way to raise money for tornado relief efforts in Moore. They are only $13 dollars and 100% of the proceeds will go to Oklahoma Red Cross tornado relief efforts. If you are interested in helping, please buy a shirt or two. The more shirts we sell the more we can help these people, some of who have lost everything they own.

Here is the website to order shirts: http://jdreeves.com/mooreshirt/11289150
If you have any questions or problems with ordering you can e-mail J.D. at jdreevesdesign@gmail.com and he will be glad to help you out!

Our goal is to sell at least 100, so please spread the word! (You can share this post via Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest or E-mail below).

Dear Lord, give these people who are hurting the peace and comfort that surpasses all understanding.

Blog Makeover

Hey there. As you can see, I'm giving little ol' home sweet 'homa a make over. I'm aiming for a cleaner, simpler aesthetic and I've only just begun. I still have a lot of design work to do (with some help from the hubs, of course) and definitely a lot of reorganizing of the blog content itself so it will be a bit easier to navigate within the site. I wanted to wait until I was finished with the redesigning before I did anymore posting, but with the little amount of time I've had lately to work on it, it just hasn't been completed. :) So I'm going to start posting again anyway. I have several fun things from the last couple of months that I will be documenting and sharing over the next week and hopefully I will finish up this makeover project soon!

But for now...I'm off to Chicago with the hubs and the in-laws for the weekend! Read about our last trip to Chi-town here!

Happy weekend!

Easter.

Every year for Easter my family goes to church together and then we go to my Aunt Carla's for lunch. After we spent the afternoon with my family, we went to J's parents to eat dinner and spend the evening with his family. It was a wonderful day. Enjoy the pictures!

Although we dressed in our Sunday best, ate delicious food and hunted Easter eggs we never forgot the true meaning of this glorious holiday. Jesus rose from the grave to save us all and I will never be able to express my gratitude enough. Thank You, Lord!

"Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy He has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead."
